Curtains for car wash

The curtains for a car wash are curtains made of PVC tent fabric and are installed to protect the boxes for washing cars. This allows you to serve multiple cars at the same time. Such boxes are installed in auto repair shops.

What are the curtains for car washes made of?

Five to ten years ago, curtains for car washes were made of plastic film or of tight canvas. Both of these materials are not suitable for use in very humid environments. Polyethylene is destroyed under the action of water, and the canvas becomes heavy, and it is difficult to open or close such a curtain.

Now, tents for car washes and service stations are made of waterproof PVC (polyvinyl chloride) material.

• Provides 100% waterproofing of the room.

• Resistant to mold and other fungi.
• Resistant to fuels and lubricants.

Which curtain to choose

According to the price/quality ratio for the production of PVC curtains for car washes, it is recommended to choose PVC with a density of 630-650 g/m2, with single or double-sided varnish coating. Material of lower density will last no more than 3-5 years, and a denser one will cost 1.2-1.5 times more expensive. The lack of varnish coating will cause the destruction and sprinkling of the layer of PVC coating.

Options for curtains for car washes:

• Completely transparent with a perimeter of opaque PVC fabric of any color.
• Solid, made entirely of opaque PVC. Color – any of the 15 available shades, from white to black.
• Opaque with a transparent window of any size and configuration.

If the size of the transparent window exceeds the width of the roll, such a window is made of two or more parts interconnected by a strip of opaque PVC 10-15 centimeters wide. Visually, it looks like a seam, horizontal or vertical. There is another way to connect a transparent PVC film together – to solder or stitch the edges. However, from an aesthetic point of view, such a seam loses in comparison with an opaque insert.

For fastening, PVC curtains for car washes are completed with galvanized fittings of Polish production.

Terms of Use

Curtains for car washes are used both in summer and in winter, since PVC can withstand temperatures from -30 °C to + 70 °C. In winter, it does not make sense to heat the entire workshop room, it is much more economical to maintain the desired temperature in the boxes, fenced with PVC curtains.
